Hi Jim,

Certified Mail is "Proof of Mailing". Without a round date, there is no technical "Proof of Mailing." The round date certifies the date the item was accepted by the USPS.
Once the item enters the mailstream and is scanned, that would be additional Proof of Mailing, however without an official round date, there is no official (legal) proof of the date of mailing. Carriers are generally not allowed to have a round date stamp with them, so the actual round date would need to be done at your local post office.

What happens to Certified / Return Receipt letters if I just drop them in the outgoing mail and never get a roundstamp acknowledging them?

Are they then not really "certified"?

Post Office Letters use "Certified" with or without "Return Receipt". Certified gives your customer a tracking number. Here is the catch with Certified mail from your store... You have to speak with your postmaster as to whether you have to bring each mail peice to the post offce for "round stamping" or it will get taken care of at night after your store pick-up. This will determine if you are going to support "Certified" and "Returned Receipt" mail at your store. You also have to stock the forms ie PS form 3800 and PS form 3811.

Good Morning Carol,

If you are not seeing Express Mail as a delivery option, please make sure that the service is enabled in PostalMate > Tools > Options > Shipping Settings > Service Display > All Carriers tab and/or USPS tab > (+) USPS. This should be done for both the Parcels and Carrier Packs buttons located above the carrier tabs.

If you continue to have problems or need further assistance, please contact support by email at support@pcsynergy.com or at 800-485-6901.

Thanks,

Carol,

Delivery confirmation is not an option for letters unless you are sending it Priority mail. You will see delivery confirmation option on Parcels. You will probably need to have the PM support call you on Express mail issue.

I have recently purchased an existing Mail and Package center that was not utilizing the PM software effectively. I need help as I am "self training" along the way while still running the store, in hopes that I am not losing money. I have two things that I cannot figure out on my own.

1. I am not able to offer express mail from USPS, is there a way to set this up as an option in PM?

2. I am not able to offer delivery confirmation through PM for letters. Is this something that is done through dazzle?

Thank you in advance for your help.
